Are You Ready For Baptism?

How do I prepare?

1. Watch The Examples Below

You'll notice that each person was authentic, relaxed and honest. This is what makes stories so powerful. And don't worry about getting it right the first time. The great thing about shooting a video is that you can shoot it again. This is okay with us. It's your emotions and sincerity behind the words of your testimony that will make people believe God really can change lives.

2. Write Out Your Story

Before coming to tape your testimony, take time to write out your story. This is a great exercise that will benefit you for years to come when people ask about how you met Christ. Here's an outline to follow as you write your story:

[ 1 ] Before you met Christ... What was your life like?

[ 2 ] How you met Christ... What happened? Who was there?

[ 3 ] After you met Christ... How has your life changed?

3. Send Us Your Testimony

We know that writing your "God-story" can be difficult. So, when you've finished writing your testimony, send it to us. We will call you to talk through it with you. Then, we will schedule your baptism day. Writing your testimony is a great experience and will benefit you for the rest of your life!

4. Get Ready For The Celebration

On your baptism day (i.e. Celebration Day!), be in the worship center at least 15 minutes prior to the service. We will provide shirts and towels for you. Then, get ready to have one of the best days of your life.

Why do the video testimony?

"Moving."   "Inspiring."   "I felt like they were telling my story."

Would you believe that people use these words to describe baptisms? Ask almost anyone who attends and he will tell you that one of the most meaningful parts of the worship services at the Bridge is the testimonies of people who are baptized. These stories of life change can make even the hardened skeptic reconsider the power of the gospel. You have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share the difference Christ has made in your life with several hundreds of people. You never know who may step across the line of faith because of something you say! That's not hype - that's the truth. So, with the possibility of impacting someone's life and eternity, why wouldn't you share your story publicly? God will use you!
